INVESTIGATION
INTRODUCTION TO MY GRADE 9 SERVICE ​
  
With a team consisting of Kimyo, Taniya, Mabataslisho, and Ardasher, I developed a platform to teach elders about technology. This project is essential because right now so much information is online and so are different services, our project can help give the elderly the skills and confidence to access them. In addition, right now we are disconnected because of the COVID-19 pandemic and now more than ever technology is needed to communicate with one another, our project will help them communicate with others as well, which can help them feel less isolated in these times. It will also provide them with a source of entertainment Today technology also has many disadvantages like security breaches and addiction. Our program can help the elderly overcome these challenges and use technology wisely and efficiently

To help get guidance and support on our project we emailed Mr Godfrey to be our supervisor, this is a screenshot from the first meeting with our supervisor. 

PROJECT PLANNING​

After planning my project along with my group we worked on the project proposal, in the project proposal we explored the aim of our project, the need of our project, the success criteria, and the team roles.  For our needs assessment, we sent google forms to different students and adults present in Mombasa. The purpose of our needs assessment was to see if our project will be impactful or not, from our needs assessment we were able to see that 95.8 people believed our project was essential in these times and supported it, from this, we can identify that our project is needed. Many responses encouraged the project and recommend having classes for the elderly.  Linked is the response from all the participants in the google forms:

While doing our proposal we realized that this project is sustainable because we will be teaching the elderly through youtube videos, which can be accessed at any time without the need of us being there.

PROJECT EXECUTION

To execute our project we decided we would make youtube videos, this was as when he decided to have our session on zoom, we had to create sign up forms, from the forms we realized that not many people were signing up as it was a very long process, to learn tech, hence we decided it would be much easier for our viewers to access our session through youtube videos. To create our videos we have decided to use iMovie and zoom. The video plan and action plan are linked below:

To advertise our project we also made social media accounts, this included an Instagram and Facebook account, images of the accounts are on the left.  We used our plans and uploaded the created content to the platforms.
